Wellbeing

This week we held the first of weekly virtual wellbeing webinars. You can find the recording and slides from the session here. The session was live-tweeted; you can follow the thread here. Helen reflected on this quote from John Kotter. When we are at the other end of this crisis, we have to be able to build on the amazing strengths that the NHS & wider health & care system is showing now to take health and care to another level when things are more stable.

We are not alone.

The Covid-19 pandemic is a terrible & tragic thing but it's also an opportunity to reboot the world. For positive changes to be sustained, leaders have to switch their perspective from "action" to "movement". Read more.

Relationships matter even more when we're working from home. Virtual teammates are 2.5X more likely to perceive mistrust, incompetence & broken commitments than those who are co-located. How to be a respectful & empathetic virtual co-worker.

Helen hopes that post the #COVID19 crisis we'll see an escalation of the relational approaches that we're currently utilising for home working & virtual connection.

Nadine Jenkins from @UKGBC  produced a sketchnote of the "rules" that her newly-virtual team has agreed for their online meetings.

Whether you're new to working at home or been a home worker for ages, it's always handy to have new tips to ensure you're productive AND protecting your wellbeing. Some great ideas that reflect current challenges eg children also being at home!

Helen is always trying to find graphics on virtual working that represent diversity & inclusion. Most of the images available online are awful; they either show computers "talking" to each other or men in ties. So she appreciated this graphic that came via @GraphicChange & @danaklisanin
