Our first thoughts beyond the pandemic must be the recovery of #ourNHSpeople who've given so much this past year. We should also think about the transition from remote to face to face work: likely an emotional roller coaster for many people.
Digitisation (striving to keep up) is different to digital transformation (reinventing what you do). Eg, Microsoft has made massive gains since the pandemic after it invented itself as "digital first responders to the world’s first responders”.
After a year of home working, so many people are experiencing MS Teams fatigue or Zoom fatigue or whichever-virtual-platform-they predominately-use fatigue. Research on its impact & ways to alleviate it is now getting published. Great sketchnote Hayley Lewis

Improvement & Change
A powerful example of the "iceberg" system change model. Too often in health & care we focus our action plans on events above the waterline. Unless we also address patterns, structures & mental models below the waterline, we won't create change.
Helen loves the system change resources that @Sys_innovation posts on Twitter for free. Here's their latest template on Backcasting. Rather than creating a picture of the future based on increments from the present, we work backwards from where we aspire to be.
The Argyris ladder of inference is so insightful and helpful in change. We can link our actions (at the top of the ladder) to our assumptions, to our data(at the bottom). Dan Stillman suggests using it as system leaders to understand/align with others' views.
Important new @theQCommunity report: "Improvement" (using a systematic approach to improve quality/experience/outcomes) played an important role in the #Covid19 response & it was more valuable/impactful where an improvement capability existed pre-pandemic. Read the report.
Leadership and teams
When we think about the future we want for our organisations beyond Covid, top of the list has to be how we humanise our workplaces, bring out the best in everyone, uninstall bureaucracy & put something better in its place.
I'm so looking forward to a work life beyond the #Covid19 lockdown when we can meet in person again (at least some of the time). It might take a while to get used to it. Graphic: Shannon Wheeler.
