What I hope to learn from the School for Change Agents

I would have never thought that as an International Relations student I could take advantage of opportunities offered by the NHS. However, during my short time in the Horizons team, I have learnt so much about the amazing development opportunities I could have taken advantage of during my degree. I believe that if I was a student again and struggling to make my mind up about what I would like to pursue as a career, experiences like the School for Change Agents are exactly what I would be seeking out. Particularly as the School for Change Agents is free - I definitely would have appreciated that as a student.

Coming into the team, one goal of mine is to ensure that we show students and young people - whether they study law, graphic design, international relations or nursing, that they are able to work in the NHS and take advantage of such opportunities. It is so important to build a diverse workforce and welcome people from different backgrounds. I am so glad to have been given the chance to share and discuss these ideas with the team and hear their opinions on this too on how we can grow this amazing experience!

The School for Change Agents, or #S4CA as we refer to it on our social media is such a brilliant opportunity for those who work or would like to work in health and social care. Not only this, but it is open to anyone who wants to develop their skills in helping to create a positive change in the world of healthcare and beyond.

If the Covid-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it's that we can have so much influence when we are a part of a community. The School for Change Agents gives it's participants the opportunity to be a part of a global association in influencing change in our health and care services all around the world, which is so significant when we take into consideration the effects of the pandemic that we are currently living through.
