New research from Ashridge demonstrates why every leader should be active on social media. It increases speed & reach of communication & its more interactive & personal exchanges enhance relationships. It's not a fad and it's not going away, find out more here.

On 22 May, Helen participated in an insightful tweet chat on place based health organised by Guy's and St Thomas' Charity. The contributions were curated into a twitter moment, click here to view. This is a great way to get new perspectives from people that you wouldn't normally connect with.

The last #QIhour tweet chat, run by some of the most influential quality improvers in the NHS was great. Helen highly recommends the next one, even if you are a tweet chat novice. Join in on the 19th June, 8pm and follow the hashtag #QIhour. The topic will be improvement focussed on patient experience.

Communication 

A beautiful sketchnote by Dr Karen Treisman on the power of language. Language can hurt, shame, 'other', make people feel like they don't matter. Negative language can have long-lasting harmful impact. AND Language can inspire, motivate, give hope. Choose your words wisely.

Staff experience and wellbeing  

I've been reading a PWC article this morning saying that Return on Experience (ROX) is THE new performance management metric. It's written in a completely different context but I'm sure we could develop a ROX model based on patient & staff experience. Read more here.
