What Matters To You
The British Columbia Patient Safety & Quality Council of Canada (BCPSQC) has co-produced some new resources on virtual care appointments with their patients & families, based on "what matters to you". Here's the first which is for patients & families.
Belonging is a powerful concept for improvement. It's the ultimate measure of inclusion and diversity and something we must create if we want people to engage in change. Helen shared these slides on belonging to colleagues in the Improvement Directorate.
Walking is something we should try to do every day, if we can, during lockdown. It's not just walking for exercise or transport; it's walking for purpose: We can walk for 1) perspective 2) connection 3) learning 4) gratitude 5) productivity.

Goal-gradient effect: the closer we get to a goal, the more in reach it feels & the harder we try. In improvement, if we express big, ambitious goals, they can feel unachievable (even demoralising)to others. It's often best to have cycles of smaller goals by Sketchplanator.
Learning styles: new research shows widespread belief in this myth amongst educators & it's not going away anytime soon. Similar in leadership development circles. The discredited kinesthetic/visual/auditory model is still widely used.
